Zuno Privacy Policy

Thank you for reviewing Zuno’s Privacy Policy. We deeply value the trust you place in our platform and maintain full transparency about how we handle your personal data. Our platform provides a free solution that allows users to discover trending user-submitted videos, watch, share and browse content at no cost. This policy outlines all categories of data we collect, the reasons for collection, our practices for using and sharing your information, and all legal rights you have over your personal records. We use plain, accessible language and minimize complex legal terminology to make all provisions easy to understand.

Scope of Application

This document governs every website, mobile application and online offering operated under the Zuno brand (collectively referenced as our “Services”). The core objective of our Services is to enable users to find viral user-generated videos, view, share and explore all content at zero cost. A hyperlink leading to this policy is embedded within every applicable service page. Should any standalone offering carry its dedicated privacy guidelines, those exclusive provisions will supersede the rules laid out here.

Categories of Data We Collect

To improve your experience of discovering, streaming and sharing trending user-uploaded videos, we collect information tied to your identity, your behavioral activity on our Services, and records obtained from external third-party sources. Full breakdowns are outlined below.

Information You Voluntarily Submit

While using Zuno, you may choose to provide specific personal details to our platform, including the following items:

  • Account Registration: As mandatory minimum information, we collect your phone number, email address, gender, date of birth, alongside your customized preferences for trending video genres or content categories you wish to explore.
  • Profile Customization: You may choose to provide supplementary information such as your video viewing preferences, personal bio, hobbies, personal photographs, plus any video files you upload onto the platform. To submit media assets including video clips or profile photos, you may need to grant Zuno authorization to access your device’s camera, built-in microphone (required for videos containing audio tracks), or local photo and video storage gallery.
  • Purchase Transactions: If optional premium functionality rolls out in the future or you complete direct in-platform purchases (excluding transactions processed via third-party marketplaces like the iOS App Store and Google Play Store), we will gather payment-related credentials through our vetted payment service providers, such as debit or credit card data.
  • Surveys & Promotional Activities: All information you submit when participating in surveys, focus group sessions, competitions or promotional campaigns linked to our video-focused Services.
  • Customer Support Communications: Records shared when you reach out to our support staff for assistance, such as troubleshooting video playback failures or resolving account login access issues.
  • Third-Party Contact Details: If you input other individuals’ contact information to use friend-invite functionality, we will process such data on your behalf. We also manage your chat histories and all content you publish to guarantee stable, secure operation of our platform Services.

Information Acquired From External Parties

  • Other Platform Users: Records shared by fellow community members, such as violation reports submitted regarding your uploaded video content or public comment threads you posted.
  • Social Media Platforms: Data we retrieve when you log into Zuno via third-party social accounts including Facebook and Google, or import content from platforms such as Instagram, for instance reposting Instagram short-form clips onto Zuno.
  • Business Partners: Data provided by our partner networks that host our advertising placements, plus records identifying suspected malicious user accounts supplied by external third parties, provided such data sharing complies with applicable local legislation.

Automatically Collected Digital Records

  • Usage Behavioral Logs: Activity histories documenting how you interact with our video Services, including login timestamps, platform features you engage with (video playback, content sharing, trending topic searches), your interactions with other creators’ uploaded videos (likes and comment submissions), and your engagement metrics with displayed advertisements.
  • Device Attribute Information: Specific details about your hardware and installed software, covering your public IP address, unique device identification number, app configuration preferences, advertising tracking IDs, and cookie recognition markers.
  • Cookies & Similar Tracking Mechanisms: We deploy these tracking tools to recognize your accessing device and deliver personalized browsing experiences, for example saving your customized video preference settings. At this stage, our platform does not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals, given there exists no unified cross-industry standard regulating these signals.
  • Third-Party SDKs: Integrated tools including Google AdMob, Firebase and external attribution tracking SDKs may collect device identification codes and user activity data to power targeted advertising and platform performance analytics.

Information Collected With Your Explicit Authorization

  • Precise Geographic Location Data: This dataset will only be gathered once you provide clear consent, and background location collection may persist if your device’s system settings permit this feature. Refusing location access authorization may disable location-linked platform functionality, such as browsing trending video content produced by creators within your local geographic area.
  • Photographic Identity Verification: Facial geometric measurement data (classified as biometric personal data within certain regional jurisdictions) utilized to validate user identity. One key application is blocking fake accounts from uploading misleading or deceptive video material.
  • Additional Uploaded Media Assets: Photographs or video footage you submit for your personal profile page or as part of live streaming and content-sharing platform tools.

Purposes for Using Your Personal Information

We leverage all collected user data to deliver, refine and safeguard our video-centric platform Services, alongside serving tailored advertising materials to users. Complete breakdowns of data utilization objectives are detailed below.

A. Account Administration & Core Service Delivery

  • Create and maintain your official Zuno user account.
  • Deliver customer support assistance and respond to all your service-related inquiries, for example resolving video playback malfunctions.
  • Distribute platform update notifications, customize pricing frameworks for future premium feature packages, and process all monetary payment transactions.

B. Video Discovery & User Interaction

We suggest trending videos posted by other community creators aligned with your personalized content preferences, and allow other platform users to view video material you have uploaded, subject to your customized privacy configuration settings. We also operate search functionality for locating specific video subject matter, and interactive tools covering content sharing and public comment posting.

C. New Feature Rollout

We may display your personal profile, uploaded video creations and customized content preferences on newly released Zuno features or companion mobile applications that align with our core video-sharing platform mission. We also support unified account management across all newly launched platform offerings.

D. Advertising & Promotional Activities

We evaluate the performance metrics of our advertising campaigns and conduct platform promotional initiatives, for example alerting users to newly rolled-out video editing functionality. We also distribute marketing communications regarding products or services we believe align with your interest in video browsing and our Zuno platform offerings.

E. Continuous Service Improvement

We distribute user feedback questionnaires, analyze how community members interact with video content on our platform, and develop brand-new functional features such as more precise video recommendation algorithms. We also review customer support dialogue archives to elevate overall service quality, with one concrete improvement target being faster resolution of video upload failures.

F. Platform Security & Legal Compliance

We detect fraudulent user behavior such as fake accounts uploading stolen copyrighted video material, enforce all clauses outlined within our Terms of Service, and collaborate with law enforcement authorities when formal legal requests mandate such cooperation. We also preserve data linked to platform rule violations to prevent repeated identical misconduct across our user community.

Legal Bases for Data Processing

Our platform processes your personal records based on four distinct legal foundations:

  • Performance of Contract: Manage your registered user account and deliver all core platform Services, covering all utilization objectives listed under sections A through C above.
  • Legitimate Business Interests: Operate targeted advertising campaigns, refine platform functionality and uphold overall community security, covering all utilization objectives listed under sections D through F above.
  • Statutory Compliance: Fulfill all mandatory legal obligations imposed by governing bodies, such as responding to official court orders and regulatory information requests.
  • Explicit User Consent: Process sensitive personal datasets, for instance video preference tags you mark as fully private, or activate specific restricted data collection features such as gathering precise geographic location coordinates. You retain full authority to withdraw your previously granted consent at any moment through in-app configuration menus or by reaching out directly to our support team.

Scenarios of Personal Information Disclosure

Information Shared With Other Platform Users

Your public-facing profile page and all content you voluntarily set to public visibility (including uploaded videos marked “Public” and public comment submissions) will be visible to other Zuno users, governed entirely by your customized privacy configuration settings. If another user submits a violation report regarding content you published, we may forward follow-up updates about our official handling actions to the reporting user.

Information Shared With Service Vendors & Business Partners

Third-party vendors that support day-to-day platform operation, such as cloud video hosting providers and payment processing agencies, may receive limited portions of your personal data. We only share encrypted, unreadable hash-formatted data with advertising partners to fully protect your personal privacy. Every contracted vendor must adhere to rigorous non-disclosure agreements designed to secure all user information they access.

Built-In Cross-Platform Sharing Tools

You may utilize our native sharing functionality to forward video clips or your personal profile page to external platforms outside the Zuno ecosystem. One common example is sharing trending video content via WhatsApp.

Legal Proceedings & Corporate Restructuring

We may disclose your personal data during formal legal litigation procedures, such as responding to official court subpoenas, or throughout corporate merger, acquisition or bankruptcy restructuring processes, provided such disclosure is legally required or constitutes a mandatory component of the corporate transaction underway.

Disclosure With Your Explicit Approval

We will secure your clear, affirmative consent prior to distributing your personal data to external third parties for objectives unrelated to core platform operation, for example collaborating with commercial brand partners to promote their exclusive branded video content series.

Aggregated Anonymized Data

Anonymized or hash-encrypted aggregate datasets, covering device hardware metadata and generalized demographic statistics like “users who consume music-themed video content”, may be shared with external partners to facilitate targeted advertising delivery and platform user behavior analytics.

Cross-Border Data Transfer

Your personal information may be transferred to the United States or additional international jurisdictions that maintain divergent data protection regulatory frameworks. When relocating personal data originating from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we implement standard contractual clauses pre-approved by official data protection authorities or other legally recognized compliance mechanisms to guarantee consistent protective standards for all transferred personal records.

Your Legal Rights & User Controls

In-App Account Management Tools

  • Access & Modify Data: Edit your personal profile details, such as adjusting your video content preference tags, or navigate account configuration menus to revise all personal information stored under your account.
  • Manage Device Permissions: Enable or revoke Zuno’s access to your device’s contact list, geographic location sensor and camera hardware through your mobile device’s native system settings. Important note: Disabling certain permission sets will disable corresponding platform functionality. For instance, camera or photo gallery access must remain enabled to upload video content onto the platform.
  • App Uninstallation: Deleting the Zuno mobile application from your hardware device does not automatically terminate your registered user account. All your stored personal data will remain preserved on our platform’s secure server infrastructure.
  • Permanent Account Deletion: You may submit an official account closure request through the platform’s built-in administrative functionality. After account deactivation, your public profile and all uploaded video content will no longer be visible to other community users, yet we will retain your personal records in strict alignment with our official data retention guidelines.

Statutory Rights Based on Residence

Depending on the regional jurisdiction where you reside, you may possess the following legally protected entitlements:

  • Right of Access & Data Portability: Submit a formal request to receive a complete copy of all personal data stored under your registered account, delivered in a machine-portable standardized format such as a CSV spreadsheet logging your full history of uploaded video content.
  • Right to Erasure: Request full permanent deletion of your personal records, subject to narrow legal exceptions mandating mandatory data retention for regulatory compliance purposes.
  • Right to Rectification: Revise inaccurate information recorded within your personal profile, for example updating your customized video content preference categories.
  • Right to Object & Restrict Processing: File a formal objection against specific data processing activities or place limitations on certain data utilization workflows. One example is opting out of targeted advertising powered by your personal behavioral data.

We may request supporting identity verification documentation before fulfilling any data rights request to prevent fraudulent submission attempts. Formal requests that violate applicable local legislation, prove operationally unfeasible to execute, or would infringe upon the legitimate rights of other platform users may be officially rejected. Individuals residing within Virginia hold the right to submit a formal appeal for any denied data rights requests. Users located within the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom may submit official complaints regarding our data handling practices to their local regional data protection regulatory authority.

Data Retention Timelines

Our platform retains your personal records exclusively for the minimum duration required to fulfill core business operational needs or satisfy mandatory legal compliance obligations:

  • Safety Retention Window: Three calendar months following your official account closure, or one full year after your account receives a permanent platform ban. This retention period enables our team to fully investigate potential harmful incidents linked to video material you previously uploaded, such as prohibited harmful video content.
  • Mandatory Compliance Storage: Financial transaction archives (retained for ten years), credit card payment credentials (preserved until all related dispute resolution windows expire), platform user activity logs (retained for one calendar year), and all user consent authorization records (stored for five full years).
  • Legitimate Operational Needs: Customer support correspondence archives (retained for five years), core metadata confirming your account’s existence (stored for three years post official account closure), personal profile information (preserved for one year to support potential future legal litigation), and data linked to permanently banned user accounts (stored indefinitely to maintain overall platform community safety standards).
  • Active Legal Disputes: All personal data connected to ongoing legal claims or formal regulatory inquiries will remain securely stored until the relevant dispute reaches full, final resolution.

Minor Privacy Protections

Zuno’s full suite of platform Services is designed exclusively for users who have reached eighteen years of age or older. We do not proactively collect any personal identifiable information from underage minor individuals. If you identify an account operated by a user younger than eighteen years old, please submit a violation report through the in-app reporting functionality.

Minor Safety Guidelines

Our mobile application is not engineered for use by children below eighteen years of age, and we never knowingly gather personal identifiable data belonging to minor individuals.

We enforce an absolute zero-tolerance policy toward every form of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, covering any sexualized video content featuring underage minors. All platform users may flag policy-violating content directly through built-in in-app reporting channels. Any submitted reports referencing child sexual exploitation material receive priority review from our moderation team, followed by appropriate corrective actions including full content removal and temporary or permanent account access restrictions.

If we confirm personal data belonging to an underage minor has been collected without valid parental authorization, we will execute immediate procedures to fully erase all such records from our secure server infrastructure.

Where local governing legislation imposes such requirements, we will fully cooperate with relevant official authorities during formal investigations involving child sexual abuse material.

  1. Navigate to App Settings > Account Configuration and select the menu option labeled “Delete Account.”
  2. Adhere to the on-screen guided prompts to initiate the official account deactivation and deletion workflow.
